The team at Creative Individuals were invited to the Freshies 2024 after being nominated for three different awards — Marketing Magnifico, Fantastic Family, and Customer Service Sensation. We didn't win this time around, but being recognised by local businesses for our hard work, reaching the finals of an awards ceremony, is all we could ask for — and being able to party the night away at the Freshies is always an added bonus!
So, What Are The Freshies?
At The Freshies, the Fresh Perspective team bring together people and companies across Lancashire and the Northwest to celebrate their achievements and recognise their hard work. It's a not-for-profit awards evening that gives back.
This year, the awards were hosted at Blackburn Cathedral — a stunning venue dressed for a great night. With hundreds of guests in attendance, The Freshies raised a grand total of £20,107 for charity. An incredibly impressive amount of money!
Our Involvement with The Freshies
The Creative Individuals team have been filming The Freshies every year since they began. Starting in 2021, the Fresh Perspective Team launched the awards evening off the back of the pandemic, hoping to bring some fun, positivity, and inspiration back to the region.
After attending the awards in 2021 in a working capacity, we were asked back for the second year — and this time we'd been nominated for the Marketing Magnifico award. Not only did we get to film the evening, but we also WON our category. We were up against some tight competition, so being able to accept an award was a great feeling!
A Fun-Filled Evening of Networking and Celebrating
The Freshies always offer a fun-filled evening. Over the years of our attendance, we've come to be acquainted with a lot of the individuals and companies who are invited. It's a great opportunity to meet new people, network, and come together as a community with one main goal — appreciating the hard work everyone puts into their businesses and local communities.
After the mingling is done, everyone heads to their tables to watch the evening's awards unfold. With 18 categories, each winner is announced to the sounds of cheering and clapping across the venue. It is genuinely heartwarming to see so many different people in support of one another.
Once the awards were done, it was time to party the night away with infamous DJ Tony Greenwood, live musicians, and the Fresh Perspective Team — who certainly deserve to let their hair down after yet another successful Freshies Awards evening.
What We Took Away from The Freshies
Aside from a few sore heads (ouch), we all had an overwhelming feeling of recognition and support coming away from The Freshies. Running a small business means you appreciate the support of your local community — and being recognised for your efforts is a huge boost to motivation and confidence.
In the Lancashire area, we've got a strong community of businesses and individuals. Being able to celebrate that together in such a way is something we're proud to be part of every year.
